About Us

Our All-Star Cast

The Santa Fe Jewish Film Festival brings to Northern New Mexico films that inform and foster an understanding of Jewish culture, religion, history and/or identity. Our selections are an eclectic mix of award-winning documentaries, narrative first-run features, Israeli cinema and more, and represent some of the very best films playing the Jewish Film Festival circuit. Interviews with the film’s producer/director, facilitated discussions, and talks by experts create an added dimension, transforming simply “going to the movies” into a “movie going experience”. Our season starts in October and runs through April with films screened once every four to six weeks.

Started in 2010 under the auspices HaMakom, and dedicated in loving memory to Lynn Kraidin, one of the original organizers, the Festival was a success from the beginning. By the second season, our audience had more than doubled, several of the screenings were moved to a larger theater to accommodate demand and all of the films sold out. In recognition of the community support and to further expand our reach, the Festival was reorganized. Our current Fiscal Sponsor is Jewish Federation New Mexico, which has a statewide presence, and the Center for Contemporary Arts is the Festival’s official home. HaMakom continues to be recognized as the original Founding Sponsor.

The Santa Fe JFF is a volunteer organization with an Advisory Board and volunteer staff that reflects the community at large. It is supported through donations, in-kind services and the efforts of its volunteers, in addition to ticket sales. If you would like to support the Festival you can do so by making a tax-deductible donation or contact us at admin@santafejff.org to learn more about other ways you can help.
